SISTEM PEMBANGKIT LISTRIK HIBRIDA ANTARA PV DAN FUEL CELL

Pada sistem Stand Alone, yang tidak terhubung jala-jala, biasanya menggunakan energi alternatif (seperti energi matahari atau energi angin) sebagai penghasil energi listriknya. Saat ini, masalah utama dalam penggunaan sumber energi terbarukan adalah ketersediaan dan dispatchabiliti-nya yang masih sangat rendah. Sistem Hibrida antara energi konvensional dan sumber energi renewable (kebanyakan photovoltaic/solar sistem) menjadi solusi untuk meningkatkan ketersediaan dan dispatchabiliti-nya. Namun penggunaan energi konvensional sebagai tandem untuk penyediaan listrik terisolasi jala-jala dalam aplikasinya dapat meningkatkan polusi CO2.

Penggantian sistem konvensional dengan Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) dapat menjadi solusi dalam menjaga kehandalan sistem dengan tetap menjaga lingkungan dari peningkatan polusi CO2. Adapun tujuan dari melaksanakan penelitian untuk pengmbangan PVFC-System Hibrida, adalah untuk mengoptimalkan pengoperasian solusi berikut:

- Replacement dari sistem konvensional (bahan bakar fosil) dengan Fuel Cell, memelihara keandalan sistem persediaan dan pada saat yang sama tmenurunkan tingkat polusi terhadap dampak lingkungan dari seluruh sistem.

- Penggunaan electrolyser dan didukung oleh PV generator, untuk menghasilkan bahan bakar untuk PEMFC. – Gas (H2 dan O2) penyimpanan yang dapat berukuran musiman untuk operasi sehingga meningkatkan kinerja rasio dari bagian PV.

- Tidak ada baterai untuk penyimpanan energi. Biasanya untuk sistem pembangkit listrik tenaga matahari selalu menggunakan baterei. Dengan sistem hibrida ini kelemahan ini dapat teratasi. (Baterei cepat rusak, mahal dan membuat dimensi sistem menjadi lebih besar)
